Essential Care Guide
1. Your Gecko’s New Home
To thrive, an adult Leopard Gecko needs a 20-gallon long terrarium (though a 40-gallon tank provides a much better quality of life).
The Thermal Gradient: Use a heating mat or ceramic heat emitter to create a warm side (90°F / 32°C) and a cool side (75°F / 24°C). This allows your gecko to regulate its own body temperature.
Safe Substrate: We recommend paper towels, slate tiles, or specialized desert mats. Avoid loose sand, as geckos can accidentally eat it, leading to health issues.
The Three Hides: Your gecko needs a dry warm hide, a dry cool hide, and a humid hide (filled with damp moss) to help them shed their skin perfectly.
2. Feeding & Nutrition
Leopard Geckos are strictly insect-eaters. They enjoy a variety of live insects:
Feeding Schedule: Adults typically eat every 2 to 3 days, while growing juveniles eat daily.
Vitamins: It is essential to "dust" your insects with Calcium + D3 and a reptile multivitamin to keep their bones strong and their colors bright.
Fresh Water: Always provide a shallow dish of clean, dechlorinated water.
